Enabling Name Based Hosting in CP+

The document explains how to enable CP+ to support name based hosting.

Name based hosting allows you to host multiple domains with only one IP address. You don't need an IP address for each site, you only need one IP for the entire server which allows saving on IP usage.

To set up name based hosting:

  1. In your browser, log into CP+ at http://cpplus_host:10000/ as admin and with your server root password:
  2. In the CP+ admin panel, choose the Site Manager tab and click the Configure icon in the top left corner:
  3. On the Configuration page in the Server settings section, scroll down to option All Apache virtual servers are name-based?
  4. - If you set no, you will be able to set Shared (on IP) or Virtual interface (with IP) for newly created domains.
    - If you set yes, you will be able to set only one network interface for all domains
  5. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Save.
