Auto Ladder Leveler
The LevelSafe Pro automatically adjusts to uneven surfaces, making it easier and safer to work with extension ladders on sloped terrain.
More often than not, I am working in yards with varying grades. Leveling extension ladders has always been a real chore and can get dangerous quickly. Thankfully, Werner has finally come up with a quick and easy solution to this problem. The LevelSafe Pro is a ladder-leveler accessory made to attach to most Werner extension ladders. The best part of this accessory is how easy it is to operate.
It’s fully automatic—just place the ladder on an uneven surface, and the LevelSafe Pro levelers (one for each rail) self-adjust. If for some reason the ladder doesn’t lock in at a perfectly plumb position, just pull up the lever on each side and adjust the ladder to your liking.
The kit comes with a bubble level that is mounted to one of the ladder rungs for a quick and easy reference. We recently worked on a deck that was 10 ft. tall on the short side and around 16 ft. tall at the perimeter—a major difference in grade.
The LevelSafe Pro can adjust to a maximum of 81/2 in. of difference in height from one leg to another, so it was easy to keep working without worrying about the ladder being out of plumb and dangerous to use.
The LevelSafe Pro took me about 30 minutes to install, and it was not difficult to do. One thing to note is that it does add both size and weight to the ladder, which is to be expected.
It increased the width of my ladder by about 4 in., and the weight was definitely noticeable. But I appreciate that the duty rating remains the same.
