How To Make a Pour-in-Place Concrete Countertop

Here’s a fascinating video from the Fine Homebuilding archives by concrete artisan Buddy Rhodes. Most people cast concrete countertops in a mold face down and then flip them into position when they are cured, but this pour-in-place method can save a lot of hassle and provide a more consistent finish on the surface. It’s basically the same process as pouring a slab floor, but with a bit of extra care put into smoothing the top and forming the edges.
