Sturdy Saw Stand
Upgrade your cut station with a saw stand and outfeed table that fits most portable saws.
A high-quality portable tablesaw is a must-have on any trim-carpentry job. But no matter how well made a saw is, it’s not always easy or safe to rip down long stock or larger panels accurately on those small tabletops. A couple months ago I decided to upgrade my cut station by adding a Rousseau Table Saw Stand.
I love the fact that my saw just drops right in and doesn’t require fasteners. The portable tablesaw stand has a 34-1/2-in. working height and an accurate cam-action saw fence that accommodates rip cuts up to 27 in. But perhaps most important of all, it’s sturdy.
I do wish the frame was aluminum so that it would be lighter and stay rust-free. And that the legs were adjustable so that they would work better on uneven ground, but those are my only digs.
Rousseau sells stands in several sizes to accommodate the most popular brands and models of portable saws. Even if you don’t see your exact saw model listed on the website, the stand opening can be adjusted to fit.
The Rousseau system is modular, and since my original purchase, I’ve bought an 18-in. by 45-in. outfeed table. There is also an extension that increases the saw cut capacity to 49 in.
Both the saw stand and the outfeed tables are easy to fold and don’t take up too much room to store or haul. The table I bought (model 2791) cost $500, and the outfeed table (model 2725) was $190. Find out more at rousseauco.com.
